Please bring a water bottle, gloves, shovels, rakes, hoes, mattocks, wheelbarrows, etc if you have them
Each Permablitz is unique in itself and are usually site specific depending on the project at hand. Though, these events have a general chain of events that are similar throughout. Generally digging and sculpting the earth to create rain water collecting berms and swales is carried out on Saturday. Planting edible, perennial, and beneficial plants, and installing drip irrigation, is completed on Sunday. Each day starts at 9am (come early if you want breakfast!) and can end anywhere from 2pm-5pm depending on what gets accomplished through the course of the day. Lunch is provided at every blitz and sometimes breakfast. See the flyer above for details.
Please come prepared! It’s best to always bring with you a canteen for water, snacks, protection from the weather-sun hat, sun screen, proper clothing for the weather that day, marked tools-shovel, hoe, pick axe, rake, pitch fork, digging fork, wheel barrow, planting tools, spade, and gloves. It is not necessary to bring every single one of these things but if you’ve got em, bring em! Please bring a $20 donation as well, so that we can keep these events monetarily sustainable. All of the money raised at these events goes directly back into the blitz fund. No profit is made.
