It’s tree planting season again! We are so happy to be offering our yearly food forest workshop for the fourth consecutive year! It will be February 21st, 27th & 28th, 2016. Our workshop is a three-day intensive that will teach you everything you need to know to design, plant, and maintain your own perennial polyculture system (AKA food forest).
The beauty of these systems is the increase of yields as the labor and other inputs decrease over time. Each year we guide a group of participants through the process of site assessment & preparation, design & plant selection, and the physical installment of our collaborative project.
Each year the workshop is hosted, we have increasingly established forests to demonstrate. This allows for an improved workshop each year!
We will also tour a 7 year old food forest at Hill Country Natives, a permaculture oriented nursery in Leander, TX to see how an even more mature system looks. Every year we have students from previous classes return because they’ve enjoyed the process so much and want to do it all over again!
Caroline Riley of One World Permaculture and Michael Wolfert of Symbiosis Regenerative Systems will be facilitating this information-packed workshop. They bring an extensive knowledge base of field experience and educational work in the practice of permaculture. We love sharing our experience while helping others grow!
